On Seeing God’s Hand Over The Years
As I write this final letter for the newsletter before my retirement, the message arising is a simple one. Through all the years of my corporate and nonprofit experience, never have I seen the hand of God more clearly working than during these past eight years at Lighthouse. I truly believe that Lighthouse’s growth and success has been due to our team’s focus on the word of God.
We believe that Christ died to bring grace through salvation to all, regardless of any of our human differences. In this, he taught us that all are of value. With this as our example, in the midst of funding and policy trends that place emphasis on services to higher-functioning individuals, Lighthouse strives to serve all participants with choices and opportunities to help them fulfill their greatest potential – whatever their level of functioning. Through this and in all of our work we pray to glorify Christ.
I have learned over the years to wait for God, and I eagerly await what He has next for me. I look forward to more time with my wife, our children and our grandchildren. I am so thankful for the richness of experience, connections and testimony that my time at Lighthouse has given me. Thanks to all of you for the part you have played in my life and Lighthouse’s journey. May the way forward be blessed by The Spirit!
I leave you with my favorite scripture, Ephesians 3:20-21, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen” (NIV). The same mighty Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is within all followers of Christ. May we unify and know that this power can face anything and overcome all – so let us use it to achieve great things in Christ.
