Andon Rangelov: Coaching Others to Success

During my very first week at Lighthouse Vocational Services (LVS), back in March of this year, I had the great fortune of going to Smart Partners in the heart of Lancaster, PA, to observe a Small Group Employment partnership. My first impression of Lighthouse developed through my interactions with Andon Rangelov, one of LVS’ exceptional coaches. The heart of Andon Rangelov is a shining example of the qualities necessary to excel and make an impact on others for LVS! Andon treats others with dignity, respect, patience, and care. Andon has a bigger mission and purpose in life: to empower and influence the lives of others!

Andon has been employed with LVS for the past three and a half years. He moved to Lancaster County after getting married, having moved here from Virginia where he was employed as a Corrections Officer. Andon creates a team first work environment, leading by example, and jumping in, when necessary, to model the skills and work ethic necessary to get the job done. Andon empowers the participants, providing clear directions regarding what is required for the job at hand. He then provides encouragement and support to build confidence and independence within each person, while cultivating a spirit of collective teamwork to ensure the finished product exceeds the expectations of business partners. Andon understands that the reputation of Lighthouse matters to ensure the longevity of services
for participants.

For Andon, he experiences the greatest gratification from developing relationships and supporting life change and transformation in the lives of others. Andon shared, “This is ultimately a way to serve God!” LVS is grateful to and for Andon and his heart of servant leadership.
