Lighthouse participants have the opportunity to develop valuable workplace skills through their partnership with Lancaster Bible College (LBC). In Small Group Employment participants work alongside their job coach to wash dishes and help prepare the dining room for lunch.

John has been building his skills in the dish room, learning how to wash pans on both sides and load them properly into the dishwasher. As he learned the routine, he asked questions and worked with job coach Christina when he needed guidance. By giving the job a try, John discovered that he really enjoys this type of work.
Roger, who has experience in the dish room, confidently put the dishes away, knowing exactly where everything belonged. He had a smile on his face the whole time he was putting away pots and pans.

Chris worked in the dining room, carefully sweeping under the tables throughout the expansive dining area. It was great to see the focus he brought to his work.
For people at Lighthouse, this is not just a task; it’s an opportunity to gain skills. It’s also a safe place to grow and ask questions.
We’re grateful to Lancaster Bible College for providing meaningful opportunities for Lighthouse participants to work in the community. Thank you for being such a great partner!
